A Word From Our Founder, Coach Mary Karuga
I suffered my first midlife meltdown at only 37 years of age.
I reached a point in life where nothing made sense.
Though I was seemingly doing great on the outside. I had finished my education to Masters level, I had just been promoted to a senior position at my workplace, I had just bought my first car, built my home, for some reason I was feeling completely lost and empty on the inside.
I sought the help of a coach who suggested I may be going through a woman's midlife crisis. That threw me off my radar because that's the last thing I expected to hear.
I was only 37. "Midlife crisis!?"I expressed in disbelief. "Isn't that something that happens only to men, and also in their late 40s not 30s"
But my coach explained what a woman's midlife crisis looks like. It's a crisis of identity, a cry of the soul to be left free to become the person God created it to be. It is also a phase beyond external achievements but a phase of internal self actualizations.
He helped me go through the most liberating internal journey I've ever gone through which I now describe with this mantra.
"Of all the journeys I've ever taken, the journey back to myself was the most epic"
Having witnessed the power of a well crafted self-awareness journey, I resoved to dedicate my life to empower other midlife women to overcome the stagnation, confusion and overwhelm that comes with the midlife phase of life.
I immediately got certified as a Life coach and Career coach on top of my Accounting profession of which I am a
fully qualified and registered Accountant with the global accountancy body ACCA with a fellow status (FCCA). I hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting as well as an Masters degree in Strategic Management. By the day I work with a Global Charitable Christian Organization as the Finance and Admin Manager.
In my free time, I read, write and coach on matters affecting Midlife Women in Africa.
I am now the proud founder of Midlife Women Africa, a published author of three books on the topics of Clarity, Mindset, Planning and Execution. An online coach for over 200 women with record-breaking student success stories.
I'm pride myslef in my students feedback of deep sense of care, one -to- one connection, and well crafted step-by-step life transformational programs.
